Obama kills the Keystone XL Pipeline. Nebraska says they are concerned about the pipeline affecting their environment.
So now the oil is shipping over land using railroads. I think it is easy to calculate the risk of shipping oil via rail and the effects it could have on the environment. It's easy for underground pipelines too. Google train derailments vs. Pipeline spills.
Interesting that the environmentalists would be so short sighted to rally to end the pipeline but fail to understand the railroad option was the next best solution for the oil to move to market. Clearly they did not do their homework.
Or was it something else, something far more planned and well executed? Oil shipments by rail have increased by 2500% since 2009 from the Bakken shale in Canada and northern US plains. Who stands to gain if the over land railroad is the primary method to market?
One man does. You know him as Obama's number one private economic adviser. The man who pays less taxes than his secretary (BS). The man who owes $366million in taxes to the Federal government. The man who lends his name to the millionaire's tax.
So why was the Keystone XL pipeline opposed by Obama, Nebraska, and the Environmentalists? Because Warren told em to.
